Terms & Conditions

Draft, last updated 30 October 2026. To be checked before The Mostess is released.

Using The Mostess

The Mostess helps a household plan gatherings: events, tasks, guests, menus, a shopping list and a guest book. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Your household

The person who sets up a household is its organiser. They decide who is invited and who can change the Admin settings, and they are responsible for how the household uses the app.

Your content

What you enter stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people in your household so the app can work. Only enter details about guests that they would expect you to keep for planning, and keep allergy and phone details to what you need.

Acceptable use

Don't use the app for anything unlawful, to harass anyone, or to try to get into another household's information or disrupt the service.

Cost and donations

The app is free to download and free to use. Donations towards running and developing it are welcome but never required, and are handled by a separate payment service under its own terms.

Availability

We work to keep the app running and your information safe, but the app is provided as it is and we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Keep your own copy of anything essential.

Our responsibility

We aren't responsible for losses that come from using the app, such as a missed task or a wrong count, except where the law says we must be. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes in the app. You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from About → Delete account. How to delete your account.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
